Harghita meeting 9-11 April 2019
Participants: project partners, decision makers and youth from Hévíz (Hungary), Iseo (Italia), Kanjiža (Serbia), Lendava (Slovenia) and Băile Tușnad (Romania).
Altogether there were 53 participants.
On 9 of April 2019 our international project partners meeting started with a lunch in the Iris pension, where the hosts – representatives of Harghita County Council and the representatives of Băile Tușnad Local Council welcomed the guests, and the representatives of Hévíz Municipality, on behalf of the lead partner also addressed a welcome speech to the participants.
After lunch the participants followed the presentation about Harghita county and its natural and cultural values, held by the representative of Harghita Community Development Association. This presentation was followed by a lecture about the history of Băile Tușnad, held by the local librarian, in order to get acquainted with the rich heritage of the hosting region.
The above mentioned presentations were continued with the presentation of the participants and interesting icebreaking games coordinated by the project manager.
In the afternoon, a knowledge improvement workshop was held by the president of the Tourism Association from Băile Tușnad, who presented their activities and the programmes organized by them in the spa town.
In the evening a community event was organized and within this the local cultural values were presented. Traditional dances and folk customs were showed, after this all the participants danced together.
On 10 April 2019, the programme started with a networking activity with the participation of the local youth and decision makers. Within this the director of the ‘Hargita Megyéért’ Association presented the activity of their association and the programmes and projects addressed to youth people. The presentation was followed by the representatives of Harghita County Development Agency, who talked about statistics and programmes implemented by them, which are raising awareness and assisting young people to establish their start-ups, besides intend to stop the out-migration of the young people.
The networking activity was followed by site visits in order to get acquainted with the local good practices, then a workshop was held about the financial sources and grants addressed to the spa towns, held by the representatives of the local council.
Here the president of Harghita County Council emphasized the important role of the youth people in shaping the future, the necessity of the elaboration of a youth strategy and the openess for cooperation on behalf of our institution.
The participants had an insights in the activity of the Local Public Administration and of the Local Youth Association, which is involved in the European Voluntary Service programme.
During the sightseeing tour the project partners visited the wellness center of Băile Tușnad.
On 11 April 2019, within the workshop were analysed the possible solutions in the case of Băile Tușnad and policy recommendations related to SWOT.
During the flashmob activity the organizers raised awareness to the importance of EU elections which will be held in 2019, the reason why youth should participate in the elections for a better future.
After this activity a questionnaire was distributed to the participants of the meeting in order to evaluate the programme, summarizing the meeting, results and outputs.
